August 27, 2010 | Davao City --- PASAKA lumad confederation lambasted 1003rd Brigade  General Del Rosario for his pronouncement that the providing arms to indigenous peoples  is legitimate.“The statement of General Del Rosario reveals the military’s cowardly practice of using  civilians, especially lumads, as pawns in their counter insurgency operations. We’re  being used as dispensable forces; as their shields in the front line. Paramilitary  recruitment among our ranks is done by the military in sheer force, harassment and  blackmail. August 22, 2010 | Davao City-- The urban poor group,Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay), is furious over the current increased prices of sugar and cooking oil, and on the proposed price hike of NFA (National Food Authority) rice. The group pointed that the Aquino administration should prove its “daang matuwid” policy by putting stricter price control in the costs of basic commodities.
